IslamicTok: Pakistan own Social Platform launched to compete TikTok, SnackVideo, and Bigo etc
Why Pakistan’s own TikTok which is “IslamicTok” launched? Social Media platforms like Bigo and TikTok are already extremely popular in Pakistan. After the ban of TikTok as well as Bigo, a new platform known as “SnackVideo” started becoming popular in the country but there is a lot of vulgarity on these platforms. The youth is destroying its future by using smartphone apps as “vulgar” as TikTok, bigo live, and SnackVideo. That’s why a Pakistani entrepreneur came up with the idea of “IslamicTok App”
As Mufti Zakria of the religious seminary says producing and sharing the content of TikTok and Snack videos is ‘haram’ [prohibited], arguing that sometimes ban on permissible acts and things may lead people to careless attitude, and therefore, these doable and permissible acts are declared ‘haram’ to stop people from sinful acts eventually. And the PHC had imposed a temporary ban on the platform’s functioning in the country on a petition filed by several citizens stating that the content shared on the application were in violation of Pakistan’s Constitution, guaranteeing social and moral well-being of citizens. However, the ban was lifted by the PHC a few weeks later, with a direction to the PTA to take steps to ensure that “immoral content” was not uploaded to the platform.
After that, a new platform known as IslamicTok App started becoming popular in the country day by day because they want to promote the real value of Islam and Pakistan instead of promoting Indian or European vulgarity. Moreover, being Pakistani we should also promote Pakistani apps instead of foreign ones and avoid vulgarity in the name of so-called entertainment/fun.
